Your task was to show us “real adventures”—and what can we say? The response blew us away! Hundreds of submissions full of wide-open spaces, weather, and wild moments—from snow-covered ridges to misty forests to sunrises that require getting up early. This shared love of the outdoors is what defines the EOFT community, and it made our selection process really tough. And it’s not getting any easier. Of our six nominees, only one can take home the grand prize.

The Wormhole
After nearly a week of storms grounded our heli-ski trip in Alaska, we stopped chasing the skiing we had planned and started exploring Sheridan Glacier instead. Wandering through caves, tunnels and sculpted ice led us to a hidden chamber where curiosity replaced expectation — and ultimately to this moment.

Wall of Lights
A real adventure for me is measured by the moments when nature decides the rules. Out on the Arctic tundra, surrounded by nothing but snow, wind and freezing temperatures, we built this shelter from blocks of snow while our sled dogs patiently waited beside us. Adventure means adapting to nature rather than expecting nature to adapt to you. The glowing walls became more than protection from the cold. They became a reminder that even in the harshest environments on Earth, teamwork, resilience and a shared purpose can create warmth.

Waking Above the Fjord
July 2026, Norway. The evening before, we hiked up to this viewpoint and spent a cold, windy night there in a tent. The next morning, the fjord was still shrouded in clouds, until the sun suddenly broke through. That's exactly what makes this moment a real adventure for me: we set out deliberately to spend the night outside, had no idea what weather would greet us the next morning, and were rewarded with a completely overwhelming view. It wasn't a staged moment, but one we could only experience because we'd spent the night up there.

The Perfect Moment
We knew the odds of getting this one shot were nearly impossible – weather, sun position, flight conditions, wind, thermals, flight path, communication and angle all had to align. While holding the camera, we guided the pilot toward the sun at the same time. With one eye open to direct the athlete and one eye behind the glasses to keep the sun, the angle and the moment in view, we lost radio contact once he was a few hundred meters from the sun. Two kilometers away, Flo now flew on without our guidance. For a brief moment, the image darkened and a shadow passed by. The camera fell silent, and the athletes could hear our cheers from kilometers away. We'd done it. A photo that shouldn't have existed came to life.

Under an Arctic Sky
Hiking through northern Sweden on foot in winter lets you experience the power of nature directly. Alongside snowstorms, icy cold and darkness, you also experience moments full of wonder and beauty.
